What is an Upgrade Item in Genshin Impact?
Upgrade items are unique items that can aid certain Pokemon to evolve. They can be obtained by spinning Pokestop discs, or as rewards for events related to evolution.
They can be incorporated into armor, weapons trinkets, weapons, or gathering tools to provide additional effects or stats. Some upgrades have a cosmetic effect.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor and trinkets to give a bonus or an extra effect while the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, looted, obtained as rewards, or even dropped. Upgrade components must be higher leveled than the item they are added to. Most also require that the item be equipped with an upgrade slot. Upgrade components can be swapped with other upgrade components, with the exception of for inscriptions or glyphs, which can be added or removed freely.
Gems, infusions, and enrichments are the most common upgrade components. Gems are upgrade components that can be inserted in any equipment, and they provide less benefits than other upgrade components. Infusions and enhancements can only be used on non-amulet gear and certain legendary equipment. You can recover them from the equipment that they are located in by using an Upgrade Extractor Device, or by salvaging using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.
Other upgrade items, such as glyphs and inscriptions, can be added to or removed from gathering tools. They can provide a range of bonus effects like increasing the gather speed or adding additional materials. item upgrade can be used to alter the name of an object. For instance an object could change its name to a 'Fiery Sword,' by adding a sword pommel of fortitude or a Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor, by adding Rune of Minor Vigor.
Glyphs

When you create a glyph set, the file is saved with other InDesign preferences and can be shared. The glyphs do not belong to any specific document and can be edited by selecting Edit Glyphs Set from the Glyphs Panel menu. You can also choose whether the glyphs remember their fonts when you insert them into text.
It is recommended to begin farming rare glyphs as soon as you can. They are available in World Tier 3 Dungeons as well as Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. They are much easier to find than the rare shards you can earn by crafting items and provide a better upgrade for your gear.
